| Each of the Methodist Churches of the circuit is autonomous and has its own programme of events. In addition Internationally and nationally, and through the Methodist Connexion, the district and the Circuit recognise and arrange some events. For events at local churches the relevant web links should be consulted, or if there is no web page then notice boards at the churches, the Ministers allocated to those churches or the stewards of those churches will have information.
The Circuit will be celebrtating the 250th anniversary of the first visit of John Wesley to Colchester with a special service on Sunday 26 October 2008. This service will be held at Castle Methodist Church, built on the site of the first Great Round Meeting House, will be led by Rev'd. Lord Leslie Griffiths, Minister at Wesley's Chapel, City Road, London. The service will be followed by a lunch and a question and answer session relating to the visits of John Wesley to Colchester and the history of his activities around the country.
